Sadly Adam has to have yet another operation (this will be his third), it involves him having his tendons cut at the back of his knees and also at his ankles. The reason for this is as he doesn’t move his legs due to his tight muscle tone he is getting increased spasticity so his legs are permanently bent and his feet are starting to turn upwards. Once he has had the op he will have to spend around 5 weeks in an A-frame cast to help with the straightening and will then have a course of botox injections in his legs to help relax the muscles & Kerry is hoping there will be some left for around her eyes!!!
Over the past few months Adam has been up and down, we’ve put this down to teething and post operation pain. Thankfully since the operation in April he is sleeping better and he’s gained a 1lb per month in weight which is fabulous. He is however still continuing to badly bite his lip which is upsetting to witness plus it causes him a lot of pain. Adam has caused considerable damage to the inside of his mouth and is once again having steroid cream to help with the healing process.
On a lighter note we are off on holiday on Friday (24th July). We are staying in a luxury caravan on a Haven site near Poole, Dorset for a week. It will be Adams second holiday after the 3 days we spent in Filey last year and we are really looking forward to it. Were going with all Adams grandparents and meeting Kerrys brother, sister in law, Holly & Max there, fingers crossed the sun will shine for us. I’ll obviously blog about it and upload some pics when we return!
I have added a short video compilation of Adam, click here to view it although if you have poor broadband speed it my take a while to load!
