After making such good progress Adam had a set back on Thursday 7 June and ended up back in Intensive Care in an incubator attached to monitors and a CPAP machine to assist his breathing. His feeding was stopped and he was placed onto a glucose drip. Thankfully, after numerous tests there doesn’t appear to be any significant infection and he has since gone on to make a considerable improvement. He is now back in a cot, off all monitors and we are gradually getting him back up to 84ml milk every 4 hours. The Doctor has advised that he no longer requires Intensive Care and will be moved back onto Special Care in the morning. This hiccup has unnerved Karl & I as we seemed to be making such good progress, it really feels like we are riding an emotional roller coaster with no where to get off.
